Sexual Violence

Sexual violence includes any sexual act from unwanted sexual comments to forced vaginal, oral, or anal penetration. Someone known by the victim is more likely to commit sexual violence, rather than a stranger. This fact can make it very hard to seek services. Bluff Country Family Resources advocates understand that sexual violence, whether committed by a stranger or someone known to the victim is a sensitive topic. Bluff Country Family Resources’ advocates will caringly listen and provide support along the path to survival and healing. Specific services may include:

• Assistance with writing protective orders
• Transportation and accompaniment to court and/or the hospital for a forensic exam
• Safety planning
• Emergency hotel/motel safe homing
